If a GP or other healthcare professional believes you need onward care or investigations, you may be referred to secondary care services eg local hospitals.

Unfortunately, as has been widely publicised, the wait list to see hospital consultants can be long, depending on the specialty. If there is any degree of urgency, we will always highlight this in the referral letter. However, ultimately it is up to the hospital department to triage and allocate patients on the waiting list accordingly.

Please note, we at the Surgery are powerless to chase up hospital appointments on patients' behalf. We do not have any phone numbers that are not available to the public, and to do so would take time away from caring for other patients.

To find out about your status on hospital waiting lists, please refer to the below list of useful numbers that you can try 08:00 - 18:00 Monday to Friday, or 08:00 - 15:30 on Saturdays. Lines tend to be quieter in the evenings and at weekends.
