Prescriptions during the Covid-19 pandemic
If you require contraception during this pandemic, even if you are shielding, please do not hesitate to contact us, as we are able to provide this.
We are sending all prescriptions electronically to pharmacies. Please ensure you have a nominated chemist to collect your prescription from.
Many pharmacies have reduced their opening hours to encourage social distancing and manage demand. The latest opening hours that we are aware of is summarised in this document. Pharmacy Opening Hours (please note this is subject to change)
Please do not order more medication than you need. There is sufficient stock if everyone orders sensibly. You may need to order your medication slightly earlier than normal to allow us and the pharmacy plenty of time to write up and dispense your order.
As our surgery doors are currently shut, you will not be able to come into the Surgery to complete a prescription ordering slip. Instead, please use the following options:
- Patient Access
- The NHS App
- Our Online Form
- Post your request to us at 10 New Dover Road, Canterbury, CT1 3AP, or pop a request through our letterbox.
We cannot take prescription requests over the phone. Do not try to order through your pharmacy as they are unable to manage any extra demand at this time.
Reminder - it takes 48 hours (over working days) to process your prescription requests, which must come in in writing. Pop into surgery, speak to your local chemist, or sign up to Patient Access to request your medication, ensuring you leave plenty of time (10 days is about right) before you run out.
