Improved Access

- New Patients

Thinking of registering? You're very welcome - pop into reception and ask for a registration form. Our receptionists will be pleased to help you. As part of the registration process we will ask for some photo ID so please ensure you have this available. If you are registering your child, please provide us with a copy of their immunisation history so that we can ensure our records are accurate and they get the best care.

- Reminder - it takes 2 working days to process your prescription requests, which must come in in writing. Pop into surgery, speak to your local chemist, or sign up to Patient Access to request your medication, ensuring you leave plenty of time (10 days is about right) before you run out.

 

- Please note, GP appointments are 10 minutes long and doctors see patients every 5 - 10 minutes all day. Please be mindful of this as you may need to prioritise one or two problems in your consultation. Dealing with multiple problems will cause doctors to run late. During this particularly pressurized time we ask patients to be aware of this and bear with us when we are especially busy. Please also bear in mind that 8:30 is not necessarily the first appointment of the day - doctors sometimes see patients before this time at their own discretion, which are extra appointments and may cause them to run late even first thing in the morning. - Red Zebra - we are pleased to offer a unique opportunity for our patients by working with the charity Red Zebra who provide signposting, guidance and support on a number of social issues. This could be anything from loneliness to finance/debt advice. Representatives from the charity will be running clinics on Mondays here in the surgery, which patients can be referred into, as well as a drop in session every Monday lunchtime from 1 - 2pm, where anyone can attend for a chat and advice. Please see their website for more information, or call the surgery and ask to speak to Lorna, our care coordinator.

- GDPR - as of 25th May 2018 new Data Protection Laws are coming into force across the EU. Patients are advised that we take protection of data very seriously and that all staff are bound by strict codes of confidentiality. - Chasing up a community service eg the district nurses? Please call 0300 123 1957

     

- Chasing a local hospital appointment, or not heard anything following a referral from your GP? Our staff have limited capacity to ring the hospital on your behalf and no shortcut past the hospital switchboard. Please make every effort to chase hospital-related queries directly with them. The Kent and Canterbury switchboard number is 01227 766877, or their outpatients appointment line is 01227 868686. Thank you.
